Aspen Valley

I was fortunate enough to visit Aspen, CO several times with the Virginia Cardinals, an invitational rugby Old Boys side for the annual Ruggerfest, which is held in the early autumn each year.  During breaks between matches, we would sometimes hike up the mountain from the valley for scenes reminiscent of this picture of a quiet upland meadow in which the leaves of the aspen trees (which give the area its name) glow golden in the sunlight.  I have many fond memories of those rugby “tours,” and I am glad to have this chance to share some of them in this painting.  TO
