Jetty Dock 2

I originally posted this painting following a Facebook post from Ric Kempton of a beautiful sunset over the Jetty Dock Bar in Grason, MD.  While the photo Ric posted was breathtaking, my rendition of it left me feeling that I had not produced my best.  I had the opportunity to share my painting with my painting instructor, Roz Berlin, for her thoughts on what might be done to make this a better painting.  Taking advantage of the absence of my fellow students, Roz was able to give me a 1-on-1 session in which she helped me re-work the picure.  As you can see, it still features a dramatic sunset but with a more realistic cloud mass, a brighter sky just above the far hills which is reflected in the water, and a more colorful jetty with glowing lights on it floating in the dark water in the foreground.  Once again, I am deeply indebted to Roz for sharing her time and knowledge with me and helping me to become a better artist.  TO
